Aisha Holman, LPC-S

Aisha is the CEO, and founder of H.F.S.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state upgraded license as a Clinical Supervisor.  Aisha specializes in many things... including but not limited to trauma, children & adolescents,  substance abuse, eating disorders, sex therapy, and marriage & family therapy.  Aisha has been working in the field for 18 years.

Contrina Eiland

aka 'Trina', is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (supervised by Aisha Holman, LPC-S).
She was a primary school teacher before pursuing her graduate degree in counseling.  She has experience working with female domestic violence survivors, and rape victims.  Trina has a heart to help children, adolescents, and families. She is completing her residency in counseling.

Faith Naki Gudde

 is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (supervised by Aisha Holman, LPC-S). She is a published author and an international missionary.  She has a gentle counseling approach and a calming voice.  She has experience working with domestic violence victims, international refugees, substance abusers, adolescents and families.  Faith has extensive history of working with multicultural and multi-lingual populations She is completing her residency in counseling.

Raven McGowan

Raven is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (supervised by Aisha Holman, LPC-S). She has many years of experience working with hospitalized mental health patients.  She is completing her residency in counseling.

Christine Evans

Christine is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (supervised by Aisha Holman, LPC-S).   She has a heart to help women, adolescents, and families.  She is completing her residency in counseling.

Kashinda Pullen

Kashinda, is a full time mom and a full time graduate student pursuing a degree in counseling.

Kionne Kemp

Kionne is a full time mom, and  Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (supervised by Aisha Holman, LPC-S)  She has experience in working with children and seniors.
She is completing her residency in counseling.

Ikem O'binna

Ikem is currently pursuing a graduate degree in counseling, and a medical degree simultaneously all  while being on active duty in the US Armed Forces.

Marilyn Scott, LPC

Marilyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  She has experience working with severe trauma victims, children, adults, and families.  Marilyn is also a veteran of the US Armed Forces.  She leads the Clarksville location.

What Do The Letters Behind  Their Name Mean?

LPC-S
Licensed Professional Counselor & Clinical Supervisor.

LPC-S = Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor. The highest level of licensure for the LPC. This person is authorized by the Texas Licensure Board to train graduate students and post graduate clinical counseling associates (residents) in the field of counseling. This person can perform all types of counseling. This person can also perform the duties of Social Worker if they are trained in the field of social work. In order for a person to become a LPC-S, a person must be first licensed as an LPC for a minimum of 5 years, then take a minimum of a 40 hr training on the subject of clinical supervision. After they have met those two requirements, then they are eligible to apply to their state licensure board for the upgraded license as an LPC-S.

 

Life Coach= Life Coach

This person has a certificate from a training program (typically NOT A UNIVERSITY) where they received specific training on how to assist people through daily problems. This is NOT a license, just evidence of a person completing some hours of training. The Life Coach programs are not monitored or regulated by any State Licensing Board. This person does NOT have any clinical training. They should not work with clients who have mental health diagnosis' or those who have suffered severe traumas. They are not able to diagnose mental health disorders. They cannot bill insurance. They are NOT licensed healthcare professionals.

 

LCSW-S = Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Supervisor

The highest level of licensure for the LCSW. This person is authorized by the Texas Social Worker Licensure Board to train graduate students and post graduate clinical associates (residents) in the field of social work. The "c" allows Social Workers to do the work of clinical counseling. This person can perform all types of counseling and social work.

 

LPC= Licensed Professional Counselor 

This person is authorized by the State of Texas to perform the duties of clinical counseling. This person can perform all types of counseling. This person has a minimum of a Masters Degree from an accredited university and has passed the required state or national licensure exam.

 

LMFT= Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

This person is authorized by the State of Texas to perform the duties of clinical counseling. They have a specialty in Marriage and Family Therapy.

 

RPT= Registered Play Therapist

This person has a certificate from a training program ( typically NOT A UNIVERSITY) where they received specific training in one counseling technique- play therapy. This is NOT a license, just evidence of a person completing many hours of training. The Registered Play Therapy programs are not monitored or regulated by any licensing board.

 

LPC- A= Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

This person is provisionally licensed by the State of Texas to perform the duties of clinical counseling. This person can perform all types of counseling. They are completing their clinical 3000 hour associateship (aka residency), and are under clinical supervision. This person is only authorized to fulfill the duties of a Licensed Counselor as long as they have a Clinical Supervisor. After the completion of their 3000 supervised hours, this person will be a fully licensed LPC. They have a minimum of a Masters Degree from an accredited university and has passed the required national licensure exam.

 

Psychiatrist MD or DO

MD or DO Medical Doctors and Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, are graduates of medical school. They are able to prescribe mental health medications, and perform testing and assessments. They are governed by their states Medical Board. They can perform the duties of a counselor, if they are trained in counseling- but most MD's and DO's do not perform counseling therapy.

 

Psychologist MA or PHD or PSYD

This person is NOT a medical doctor. They can have a Masters Degree or a Doctoral Degree. They cannot prescribe medication. They did not attend Medical School. A person with this type of license typically works in the area of research, testing, and assessments. Some psychologist do work in the area of counseling. They are governed by their states licensure board.

 

Counseling Graduate Student

This person is currently taking graduate level courses in an accredited university or college. They are authorized by their university to participate in an in-school internship. They are required to complete a minimum of 300 hrs of hands-on training before they are eligible for graduation. After graduation, this person will take the national licensure exam so that they can become a LPC-A. Post passing the national licensure exam this person will then matriculate into the 3000 hr clinical associateship aka residency.
